Ingredients:

  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 tablespoons Hershey’s cocoa
  • 1 stick salted butter
  • 5-ounce can Carnation Evaporated Milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • Nuts (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Ingredients: In a saucepan, mix together the sugar and cocoa until well combined.
  2. Cook the Mixture: Add the stick of butter and the can of evaporated milk to the saucepan. Stir the mixture continuously over medium heat until it begins to boil.
  3. Stir Continuously: Once the mixture is boiling, continue to stir it continuously for 7 minutes. This helps the fudge achieve the perfect texture and consistency.
  4. Add Vanilla: After 7 minutes, remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  5. Continue Stirring: Return the saucepan to the heat and stir the mixture continuously for an additional 3 minutes. This final step ensures that the fudge is smooth and creamy.
  6. Pour into Dish: Once the fudge is ready, pour it into a buttered baking dish to set. If desired, sprinkle nuts over the top before the fudge sets completely.
  7. Let Set: Allow the fudge to cool and set in the baking dish for at least an hour before cutting into squares and serving.
