These Caramel Apple Pie Bombs are a cozy, bite-sized treat perfect for fall! Each “bomb” is a warm biscuit dough pocket filled with gooey caramel and spiced apple filling, reminiscent of classic apple pie but with a fun twist. The dough becomes golden and flaky as it bakes, while the caramel inside melts, creating a deliciously sweet, molten center. A touch of cinnamon sugar on top adds extra flavor and a subtle crunch. Perfect as a dessert or snack, these easy-to-make treats will have everyone coming back for seconds!
Ingredients
For the Bombs:
- 1 (16.3-oz) can of refrigerated biscuit dough
- 8 caramel candies
- 1 tablespoon butter, plus 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 apples, finely chopped
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of salt
For Topping:
- Cinnamon sugar (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a medium baking dish with cooking spray.
- Prepare Apple Pie Filling:
- In a medium skillet over medium-high heat, melt 1 tablespoon of butter.
- Add the chopped apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and a pinch of salt.
- Cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples are tender (about 5 minutes). Set aside to cool slightly.
- Assemble the Bombs:
- Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Stretch each biscuit slightly to form a larger circle.
- Place about 1 tablespoon of the apple pie filling in the center of each dough circle, then place one caramel candy on top of the apples.
- Bring the edges of the dough up over the filling and pinch them together to seal. Roll the edges under to form a smooth ball.
- Bake:
- Arrange the dough balls, seam-side down, in the greased baking dish.
- Brush the tops of each dough ball with melted butter, then sprinkle generously with cinnamon sugar if desired.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until the bombs are golden brown.
- Serve:
- Transfer the caramel apple pie bombs to a platter and serve warm. Enjoy!
