Beef Noodle Casserole

This dish is one of my all-time favorite comfort foods. It combines tender egg noodles with flavorful ground beef, smothered in a delicious tomato sauce. Despite its mouthwatering taste, this classic recipe is surprisingly simple to prepare, giving the impression that you dedicated hours to crafting a delightful dinner for your family.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium onion, diced
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil
  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 12 ounces cooked egg noodles
  • 1 can (16 ounces) tomato sauce
  • 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (or any preferred cheese)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions, then rinse and drain them.
  2. In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is tender.
  3. Sprinkle the cooked beef mixture with Italian seasoning and season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Stir in the tomato sauce, ensuring all the ingredients are well combined.
  5. Combine the cooked egg noodles with the beef mixture, stirring thoroughly.
  6. Grease a casserole dish and transfer the noodle-beef mixture into it.
  7. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  8. Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
  10. Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
  11. Serve and enjoy your delicious meal!
