
This dish is one of my all-time favorite comfort foods. It combines tender egg noodles with flavorful ground beef, smothered in a delicious tomato sauce. Despite its mouthwatering taste, this classic recipe is surprisingly simple to prepare, giving the impression that you dedicated hours to crafting a delightful dinner for your family.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound lean ground beef
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 teaspoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons minced garlic
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
- 12 ounces cooked egg noodles
- 1 can (16 ounces) tomato sauce
- 2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese (or any preferred cheese)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Cook the egg noodles according to the package instructions, then rinse and drain them.
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onion is tender.
- Sprinkle the cooked beef mixture with Italian seasoning and season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Stir in the tomato sauce, ensuring all the ingredients are well combined.
- Combine the cooked egg noodles with the beef mixture, stirring thoroughly.
- Grease a casserole dish and transfer the noodle-beef mixture into it.
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Sprinkle the shredded cheese evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 15 minutes or until the cheese is completely melted and bubbly.
- Once done, remove the casserole from the oven and garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
- Serve and enjoy your delicious meal!
